We were joined by Chigozie Obi for a compelling art talk titled “Between Stillness and Turbulence: The Emotional Landscapes of Chigozie Obi.”
In this conversation, we explored how emotion guides her choices in color and composition, and how psychological states are translated into visual language through her distinctive use of vibrant palettes and figurative storytelling.
Chigozie Obi (b. 1997) is a multidisciplinary visual artist and a graduate of the University of Lagos (BA Visual Arts, 2017). Her work centers on the representation of Black people in their diversity, drawing from personal and shared experiences to construct emotionally resonant narratives.
